This sounds disgusting, right? But if you think about it, all of the water you drink, every day, has been drunk before. Maybe by a horse, pig, bird or mosquito (in the form of blood). It cam out the other end of whatever drank it, and was recycled by nature. On the ISS, they just speed up the process.
